For today and tomorrow –
for people and nature
As a food importer with a large number of employees and partners, we bear responsibility in all kinds of ways. We live up to this every day.
We are committed to fairness, safety and sustainability along the entire value chain. In this, we do not just want to meet minimum standards: we want to enable positive developments on a sustainable level.
Product responsibility:
the reassurance of supplying good products
It goes without saying that our products are at the heart of what we do. Our central goal is providing these peerless-quality products to our customers, and to achieve this, we rely on uncompromising standards at every stage of the supply chain.
We undergo regular certifications so we can meet these standards. This includes ISF Broker, which confirms we meet our responsibilities for product safety and quality right through from production to shop shelves. And even more: it gives our customers the reassurance that we select our suppliers carefully, implement customer-specific requests and can track our goods at every step.
Social responsibility:
Hanseatic commitment, even in the Far East
No matter what we do, we see ourselves as a partner, especially for our customers. But the same goes for the people who produce, process and transport our products. And we find our favourite partnerships are those that exist and grow over the course of many years. These connections are founded on reliability.
Mutual fairness plays a key role here. We focus on transparent communication, fair prices and good working conditions, which is why we continue to visit our products’ manufacturers in person.
Environmental responsibility:
climate-conscious is the only way to be
By now, we should all know that eco-friendly activities can’t be a marketing measure. We are all responsible for ensuring that every process is scrutinised: where can we reduce our footprint? Where can we cut emissions?
We have also made this mentality a key part of our work. This is why we have installed photovoltaic panels on the roofs of our warehouses. They produce around 30 percent of our annual electricity needs and we’ve calculated that they save 12 tonnes of CO2 a year.
Another example is our deep-freeze warehouse, expanded in 2019, which is cooled to -20 °C with zero-emission cooling techniques. A large part of the energy we need has come from a cogeneration plant since 2011, which also hugely reduces CO2 emissions.
